BT Civils Logistics - Supervisor Team Member C3 - YORKS & LINCS AREA in Ireland, United Kingdom

Salary : 30,152- 37,638

Key Purpose of Role

The role holder will work closely with the DL Civils team manager to supervise and co-ordinate field logistical activities for the team. You will be jointly responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, compliantly, efficiently, and in accordance with all industry and company standards.

The role holder is expected to support the manager in raising the team efficiency and quality/safety/service/commercial output of the team.

Key Responsibilities

To ensure the team has the optimum tools, mechanical plant, consumables and materials for all jobs to be carried out to plan (including ordering, receipting, etc)

To ensure that all vehicle servicing is scheduled to minimise ineffective time and any vehicle breakdowns or issues with vehicles, mechanical plant or tools are dealt with quickly to minimise ineffective time

To ensure that the team’s mechanical plant and tools are maintained and serviced to comply with legislation, manufacturer’s and company standards

To ensure stock inventories are controlled financially and operationally within agreed budgets and minimise any wastage arising from field production (includes raising and tracking PO’s)

To audit stock inventories weekly and produce a report detailing usage and variances to plan

To provide coaching to the team on operational processes (stores Apps, IT systems etc.)

To jointly own the responsibility with the field supervisors for ensuring the depots in the OM area run efficiently and safely

To carry out work appropriate to the role as directed by the line manager in an efficient and courteous manner

To escalate difficulties to the appropriate level that cannot be readily overcome or are likely to jeopardise the delivery of service commitments

To cover the Civils team manager role when required to do so e.g. during periods of annual leave or conference calls/meetings

To inform line management and Control of any reasons that members of the team are late for work, fail to report for work or withdrawal from duty including sickness absences

Delivery of own work within agreed timescales

To comply with all company practices, conduct, performance & safety standards

To act as an escalation point for logistical issues that may arise and resolve them

To hold and maintain the team’s training records

To hold and maintain records of the teams streetworks fines, and escalate/resolve non-compliances

To be customer focused and conduct business in a professional manner

To assist in the production of records and reports of task related activities, including customer related enquiries

To assist in developing the regional team with growing scope of synthetics, practices, skills, processes.

To act as the lead non-manager for civils training (inc delivery where trained/skilled to do so)

To work in conjunction with civils control and field supervisors to help schedule work activity including field survey

Be responsible for your own safety and aware of the safety of your colleagues and general public by fully complying with all procedures within the Health and Safety Policy. Complete safety training and adhere to all safety standards as per Active Monitoring System (AMS) and adopt a zero accident mentality

To have an awareness of BT Openreach Environmental Policy sufficiently to understand the relevant aspects of the policy in relation to your work eg recycling.

To understand the regulatory, fair trading and competition rules and have an awareness of the BT Openreach Code of Practice relating to your work sufficiently to be able to comply

Complete all mandatory and regulatory compliance training within required timescales

Ensure that BT Openreach Code of conduct is fully adhered to at all times

Please note this is a desk/depot based role without a vehicle

  • Proven skills and experience delivering accurate, timely and efficient non-automated schedules of work to field engineers (or similar)

  • Excellent communicator both written and oral to peers and line management
