Junior Network Engineer

Function:

The ICT Junior Engineer will install, support and maintain new hardware and software infrastructure. Typically, work activities include:

? Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work;
? Monitoring network usage;
? Managing email, anti-spam and virus protection;
? Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords;
? Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers;
? Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems;
? Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards;
? Analysing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password;
? Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet;
? Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence;
? Working closely with other departments/organisations and collaborating with other IT staff;

The successful candidate is a team player with the capability of working cross-functionally with other program teams.

Your profile:

? Bachelor or Master degree in information technology/computer science or similar by experience
? CCNA certified or similar by experience is a definite plus
? Theoretical knowledge of LAN, WAN is preferred
? Knowledge of QoS, VoIP and WLAN is a plus
? Willing to work with a flexible work schedule
? Ability to work effectively under tight circumstances
? Capable to work in team as well as independently
? Good knowledge of English is required, Dutch and/or French is a plus
? Recent graduates are welcome
