Financial Analyst- 6 month Fixed Term Contract-

Why this role matters
This analysis role is vital in the central finance team to control the internal development costs & capital expenditure within B&PS. This ensures that BPS maximise the investment funds available and that the business unit outturns close to the budget envelope set by Group. By maintaining accurate reporting, analysis and forecasting BPS will have the confidence to execute the investment plan within our budget envelope.
What you'll be doing
Analysis and agreement of the monthly TSO Development bill ensuing anomalies are corrected at source
Set up and maintenance of BPS Capital programme/job structure
Liaising with TSO to agree Development budgets/forecasts by Investment proposal. Ensure IIE is balanced between BPS and TSO and that Development, Capitalised Development & Capex budget is allocated correctly across BPS
Preparation of monthly journals for capitalisation of development costs where appropriate.
Monthly/quarterly reporting of development and capex costs against forecast & budget
Variance analysis and preparation of monthly outlooks for development & capex costs to highlight over/under spends v available budget.
Agreeing and preparing overlay & restatement templates for development, capitalised development & capex
Overseeing process for registering AICC software assets
Creating IPs (Investment Proposals) including registration on APEX system.
Preparing Group Supplementary schedule detailing investments in the BPS plan and keeping this document up to date
Dealing with capex and development adhoc queries
Supporting the business planning team with Storm system queries
We'll also need to see these on your CV
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or exceptionally qualified by experience.
• Excellent knowledge of financial systems – Hyperion, Oracle, GCS, Storm
• High proficiency in Microsoft excel and other Microsoft office programs
• Experience in management accounting techniques including month end, financial data analysis, budget setting and forecasting
• Good communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to explain interpret complex financial data to non-financial managers up to director level
