Why this role matters
The purpose of the Network Delivery Senior Unit Lead role is to fulfil network delivery commitments across multiple work-streams; MFUs and Platforms, or bringing together complex immature and mature technologies ensuring BT can reliably trade, transforming ops and support delivery of MFUs targets.
The primary purpose of the NTSI team is to act as a ‘gatekeeper’ to ensure that new technology and services are introduced (and decommissioned) in a co-ordinated and supportable manner in order to minimise the potential impact to our customers and live mobile network
This role is responsible for managing the team that is accountable for the quality assurance of new technology and new service introductions into the live EE mobile network.
What you'll be doing
Network delivery commitments across multiple work-streams; MFUs and Platforms, or bringing together complex immature and mature technologies ensuring BT can reliably trade, transforming ops and support delivery of MFUs targets.
Managing a team of network delivery managers delivering commercial technical delivery outcomes whilst creating a culture of continuous development that nurtures a world class Technical Delivery Organisation
Director level stakeholder management across multiple streams, influencing upwards. Delivering positive, successful customer experience and value.
Making authoritative recommendations that balance delivery, strategic direction and operational performance.
Delivering the network delivery roadmap, ensuring BT can reliably trade, transforming how we operate, developing our people and hitting our numbers for our MFU
TLR / TLC plan with Finance, year on year efficiency plans and overall business unit organisational health
Responsible for assuring network changes are fully tested and any risk to production is mitigated and that the Customer and Network and IT Change Processes are adhered to.
Accountable for longer term changes and adapting the unit in line with business annual & longer term plans.
Transform delivery to improve quality and reduce cost.
Transform the health and performance of team.
Accountable for changes for major products or releases

Experience of managing people preferably with direct people management experience
Broad knowledge of, and experience with, mobile networks, equipment and services
Experience of managing large and complex projects
Qualified in a Project Management / Programme Management methodology (i.e. Prince2, APM, MSP)
Experience of managing diverse virtual teams
Broad knowledge of Mobile network systems and services
Experience in a telecommunications or ISP organisation
Good knowledge of mobile telecommunications and mobile technology operating procedures (esp. ITIL/eTOM)
Ability to handle a range of projects and manage in a fast changing environment
Ability to assimilate complex project information and translate into comprehensible form
Ability to remain calm under pressure and to be able to deal with conflict situations
