Purpose Of Role:
To lead a team within BT’s new OCC PoP within India and provide technical leadership. These include the One Cloud Cisco (OCC) Hosted Unified Communication Server (H-UCS) Deliver exceptional performance across Cisco VoIP Operations in terms of availability, speed of repair and platform / contract evolution including implementation of additional major contracts. To provide voice infrastructure/systems solutions design for: physical infrastructure (e.g. networks, storage, compute, firewalls) and virtual infrastructure (e.g. virtual servers, SDN
To implement/build and support the all elements of the OCC platform hosted in India
To design and own the deploy of new technologies across the OCC Global estate
To provide technical oversight of all OCC designs, delivering new capabilities and capacity.
To proactively shares own expertise, providing guidance/support and briefings to colleagues & other teams within OCC Operations
To lead and deliver the strategy on automation of trouble to resolve solution
To actively contribute to the resolution of global customer complex faults and assist complex L2C deployments
To actively contribute to the establishment of the correct support model for customers
To lead the acceptance process for customer solution & design in to the live network
To guide and train the 2 nd line team and L2c teams
To input to the thought leadership around emerging technologies especially Cisco ACI
To ensure performance management is embedded as a culture within the Cisco VoIP Operations team. To feedback regularly, recognised situations of performance of teams or individuals including recognition. To be open and honest and support development of own and team development in delivery of a high performance culture.
Pre-emptively and proactively deliver reliability activities identifying actions to prevent recurrence are driven to conclusion, through the relevant groups within SI and the wider BT.
Identify and carry out platform improvement activities, in a continual mission to achieve key performance targets in reliability and RFT.
Engage with key suppliers to drive service improvements from the relevant areas.
Interface with customers, up to and including director level, across all lines of business.
Engage with and drive the platform and design teams to ensure future technology roll outs meet operational needs and to engage with and drive the platform and design teams to ensure future platform closure is carried out with minimum impact to service.
Lead Operational evaluation/test/installation of supplier software with appropriate controls & standards.
Provide complex problem diagnosis and resolution for real-time major incidents, liaising with vendors, customer/developer groups as required.
Provide Consultancy and advice to 1st Line Operations, Platform Teams, Service Centres, External Customers, including Service Providers, as appropriate on technical and operational issues.
To drive a “shift left” culture, managing up-skilling, through coaching, development and training 1st/ 2nd and 3rd line Operations and Technical Support Teams to be more effective in network management and problem resolution.
Due to the operational nature of the role, a reasonable amount of out-of-hours working is required; the normal compensation for this will be TOIL.
Identify and develop cost reduction and revenue generation initiatives, taking ownership for Operations and working closely with the GM, Business Management to ensure delivery is tracked and maintained.

May have a degree qualification (engineering/science) or has served a technical apprenticeship and/or obtained NVQ and/or further education technical qualifications (i.e. HND).
Qualified to be and possibly member of a professional engineering/science institution and working towards chartered engineer accreditation. Relevant professional experience.
Good understanding of procedures and application of procedures and concepts within own subject area (and understanding them in the context of the business).
Experienced and competent in own area.
