Why this role matters

As part of the Discovery & Monitoring team my primary objective is to protect BT by developing a comprehensive understanding of the physical and cyber vulnerabilities, threats and risks faced by the business.

I will be responsible for the redesign and delivery of end to end process in the receipt, assessment, tasking and coordination of incidents and investigations.

I will ensure that when TI&I receive notification / information that the receipt and recording of information is accurate, the assessment is delivered with clarity and the triage of incidents is consistent to minimise the impact on BT.

Through my work I will make decisions based on the level of risk resulting in accurate case triage and an enhanced customer experience.

I will ensure a programme of assurance and governance on the information and intelligence held by implementing an entire LOB programme providing clarity on end to end activity.

What you'll be doing

  • I will own the case triage process, manage the Triage Team and ensure that relevant incidents are received, recorded, assessed and tasked in a timely manner and accurately assigned to the relevant tactical desk (Cyber, Fraud, Retail, Physical, Content Protection, Vetting Unit and Commercial).

  • I will manage the direction and collection plans to ensure intelligence is collected in furtherance of the business objectives ensuring a process of continual review of the Intelligence requirements.

  • I will own the performance requirements of TI&I ensuring relevant business improvements are identified and delivered.

  • I will own the delivery and integration of TI&I processes internally and with external Lines of Business.

I will own the programme of assurance and governance that processes are effective and meet internal and legal obligations in relation to Data Privacy requirements

I will have proven management level experience of: -

  • Collecting and processing information from multiple sources

  • Evaluating information for investigation and intelligence analysis

  • Risk assessment of crime incidents or cyber threats

  • Establishing facts to provide high quality crime and intelligence reports

  • Compiling reports and presenting their findings.

  • Understanding of relevant legislation, for example GDPR, RIPA, ISO27001

  • You will have a working knowledge of the National Intelligence Model or similar.

  • Decision Making, particularly in time critical situations

  • Experience of Tasking and Co-ordination processes

IN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS YOU'LL:

  • I will develop and deliver innovative end to end processes, designing and leading a team of colleagues who are responsible for the receipt and assessment; and the subsequent decision and outcome of incidents presented to Threat Intelligence & Investigations Team.

  • I will become a core member of TI&I’s Senior Leadership Team responsible for ensuring the delivery of Unit strategy.

  • I will have responsibility for ensuring the TI&I deliverables are at the forefront of the teams activities.

  • I will provide assurance and governance that the strategic and tactical assessments drive the business and intelligence requirements are relevant, realistic and achievable.

  • I will provide effective and accurate case triage to reduce risk, minimise the economic loss to BT, its staff and its customers.Remaining focused on providing enhanced customer experience.
