Commercial Manager - Marketing and IOT, Wholesale and Ventures

What you'll be doing

Working within the Wholesale Roaming and M2M team you will be joining one of the fastest growing sectors in the market (M2M & IoT). Constantly delivering new products to the market, you will have the opportunity to be a key member of this growth story making a real contribution.

You will be a key member of the commercial team supporting all aspects of the Wholesale and Ventures (WAV) M2M business unit.

Key tasks will be:

  • Commercial Support – Supporting Machine to Machine (M2M) Sales and Account Managers with analysis of commercial proposals. Providing recommendations to drive profitability. Driving through in-life contract changes and re-signs

  • Benchmarking – Analysing retail rates, Pricing and usage trends across all segments in the market BT Group and External) to support product launches and develop pricing strategies.

  • Contract Validation – responsible for validation of all contracts ensuring all SLA’s are adhered too. Building relationships and working closely with key stakeholders including legal, roaming and validation teams.

  • Price Design and Strategy – Using market insight (internal and external) develop pricing structures, models and tools for customer bids, customer segments or new WAV products. Development of commercial modelling tools and price guides to support sales teams

  • KPI Reporting - Design, develop and run KPI reports giving insight into in-life accounts, sales pipeline and P&L. Reporting on market analysis to identify and size broader commercial opportunities for M2M.

  • Support Senior Commercial Manager as appropriate

This role will ideally suit a commercial analyst looking to step up into a commercial management role.

Key skills/ experience

  • Relevant experience in a pricing or commercial analysis role with a track record of achievement.

  • Experience in collating complex data, analysing it and presenting it in a clear understandable format to aide commercial decision making.

  • Previous exposure to KPI reporting and monitoring.

  • Robust numerical, analytical and pricing skills with the ability to deliver sound commercial decisions.

  • Ability to suggest innovative ways of pricing in order to effectively create competitive customer propositions

  • Experience supporting a high performance sales team.

  • Experience in building working relationships with key stakeholders across other business units.

  • Knowledge of Sales Force .com beneficial but not essential

  • Good understanding of Excel (Pivots, IF Formula, V/H lookups etc.)

In the first 12 months you'll:

  • Gain a full understanding of all M2M products and platforms

  • Develop new pricing tools to support the M2M sales team

  • Own and maintain contract validation process

  • Performing market insight to support commercial design of new products

  • Creating new KPI reporting tools
