Why this role matters
You will be creating and managing content on the BT TV website (tv.bt.com), helping make it the go-to destination for current and prospective BT TV customers. You’ll be producing compelling written features on a daily basis that promote the best of BT TV’s content and services (e.g. AMC, Catch-Up, BT TV Store) and ensure the website supports BT TV marketing plans.
What you'll be doing
Creating engaging written content based on BT TV marketing and programming priorities
Sourcing and commissioning video content that aligns with BT TV marketing and programming priorities
Creating content about popular Freeview shows and contextualizing this with BT TV functionality (e.g. how to watch on catch-up)
Generating and developing creative ideas to help promote BT TV products and services
Helping manage and deliver tv.bt.com content plans for BT TV Store, BT Kids, BT Music, AMC and various other BT TV marketing priorities
Creating editorial content for the BT TV email newsletter
Proactively arranging and conducting interviews with TV talent
Working closely with BT TV marketing and programming teams to ensure the website plays a key role in attracting new subscription leads and delivering audiences to the BT Player (web and app)
Ensuring the website section pages are continually updated with the latest content. E.g. E!, Comedy Central, Discovery
Tracking performance of content to aid understanding of audience habits
In the first 12 months you'll:
Deliver compelling content campaigns for a number of major BT TV shows, including working with studios, marketing and content teams
Build key relationships with, and influence internal and external stakeholders to improve access to TV assets and talent
Increase audience to the BT TV website through a focused effort on increasing traffic from organic search and other methods
We'll also need to see these on your CV
Experience writing about TV for at least one major website or app, working full-time or as a regular, office-based freelancer
Genuine passion for TV - particularly soaps, dramas, talent shows and documentaries
Strong creative skills – specifically, ability to create and present content in innovative ways
A solid understanding of SEO
Proficient in use of Adobe Photoshop (or similar)
Experience working with a web-based content management system
Good understanding of web analytics
Knowledge of BT TV (including YouView) would be an advantage
