Why this role matters

This role is responsible for gathering and developing insight on Ventures’ markets, customers and competitors to enable effective decision making and input into the Strategy, Products and Propositions & Go-to-Market teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Gathering & evaluating insight from external sources, pan-BT, customer, competitor & market to provide meaningful insight

  • Agree insight requirements with key stakeholders and provide a centre of expertise on gathering information and developing analytical capability

  • Gather, develop and aggregate market, competitor and customer data from Ventures’ sales and service teams

  • Creating a range of internal and external channels for insight capture

  • Taking input from stakeholders, formulate a set of questions and hypothesis to drive insight

  • Execute external research and external market research

  • Aggregate insight from existing analyst reports available across BT

  • Build Ventures view of available market size and structure

  • Have a strong commercial awareness and keep up to date with trends in the Ventures markets

  • Develop environmental and regulatory insight analytics across different portfolios

  • Measure the business impact of insight to identify effectiveness

  • Develop bespoke and automated insight analytics to support/influence the business strategy based upon customer, competitor and market based insight

  • Analytical skills and the ability to derive insight and translate to business areas

  • Data management analysis. The ability of being able to look at a set of data and interpret its meaning. Create relevant trends and apply knowledge to what the data means and extrapolate what it will look like in the future

  • Ability to present data and insight in a compelling way which enables decision making

  • Ability to turn data into insight – successfully identify promising business leads and opportunities to increase revenue growth

  • Strong Commercial acumen

  • Outstanding communicator, written and verbal to influence and inform stakeholders and ability to enable strategic thinking

  • Management and collaboration with sizeable internal and external stakeholder networks

  • Ability to understand and build deep understanding of a range of industries and external environments
