The Senior Media Manager role is within the BT Group Media team who have responsibility for media planning and buying activity across BT consumer, Business and Public Sector, EE and Plusnet. It is a newly formed team bringing together people with media experience from the different parts of the BT Group to create a Media Centre of Excellence. BT Group is the 3rd biggest advertiser in the UK spending approx. £175m per year.

What you'll be doing

There are two main parts of this role:

  • You’ll be providing support to the Head of Media, to create and manage media strategy for BT Consumer, with an annual media spend c.£80m

  • The key focal points are: BT Mobile DR Media strategy, and BT Connection consideration (mobile & broadband). Across both areas you would be responsible for approx. £30m.

It is a fast pace in an environment with plenty of supportive challenge. We are always testing and learning on each product and constantly adapting what we do as a result to improve short term and long-term media efficiency and effectiveness.

We'll also need to see these on your CV

  • Solid marketing experience in a consumer or business marketing role or media agency

  • Evidence of media budget accountability in excess of £20m per annum and driving large scale, multi-channel through the line marketing campaigns in a major consumer facing plc business.

  • In-depth knowledge of TV, Digital, Press, Posters and Radio advertising market and ideally specific knowledge and experience of DMP operations.

  • Experience in developing and delivering media strategy and tactically delivering trading volumes in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Commercial acumen: experience of media agency financials and combining financial and analytical skills with creative thinking.

  • Demonstrable results: can ensure strategy has direct line of sight from insight to delivery of results and success metrics – ‘lives volumes’ on a daily basis and proactively seeks improvement opportunities

  • Stakeholder management: demonstrable experience of managing and influencing stakeholders at a senior level within and outside the company (to Director level)

  • Highly numerate and analytical: top quality analytical and numerical skills and capable of making deductions and hypotheses from data sets.

  • Able use Econometrics and other advance statistical techniques to scope, design and interpret media performance data to improve business results.
