The role also involves identifying and engaging senior client stakeholders and individuals in associated influencing bodies to ensure we maximise the available opportunity. BT have a wide portfolio that can be articulated in many ways, this role involves you creating compelling business level propositions that address the full market opportunity.

Being creative is essential, researching the customers’ business goals and our emerging technologies to create innovate and exciting new solutions that help the client lead in their field. The role involves leading a complex matrix of resources that need effectively organising to bring maximum impact to the customer and communication across this group is key.

What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for managing and leading sales activity for circa 3 customers within the UK Major Corporate market unit. These are typically FTSE 100 companies and involve selling to Senior Executive teams typically at CIO level with sophisticated procurement processes. Combining expert product knowledge, a deep understanding of our industry, and interpersonal and leadership skills, you’ll be responsible for deepening some of our most important relationships – and playing a central role in our commercial success. Here you’ll:

  • Take responsibility for a number of key accounts

  • Support the development of our customer contact strategy

  • Proactively seek new business development opportunities with our clients

  • Take responsibility for the performance of a defined customer base

  • Be an expert in BT’s product and services offering

  • Understand our industry, our competitors, and how we compare

  • Support the Head of Sales on projects when needed

We'll also need to see these on your CV

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience selling to large corporate accounts.

  • An architectural knowledge of the overall IT estate within a large organisation; applications, cloud, datacentre, unified comms, fixed and mobile telecoms.

  • Business level understanding of the role networking, fixed and mobile telecoms plays in the commercial sector.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Commercial acumen and sound account management experience.

  • Ability to develop productive working relationships.
