What you’ll be doing

As a senior field technician, you will work out of one of our various Global Points of Presence (GPOPs) across the United States. You will work alongside a team to support BT’s network by providing as needed maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvements to our datacenters. This will require you to lead and manage key tasks and projects that will insure BT is providing the absolute best connectivity to our customers. The senior field technician will report to our Americas Director of Global Field Services.

Skills / Experience :

  • Must have experience working with networks-WAN/LAN/WLAN and or Video Conferencing

  • Must have knowledge of IP network addressing, DNS, DHCP and be familiar with related troubleshooting commands

  • Must have experience in general IT troubleshooting

  • Must have experience with cabling, stacking and other Network environmental capabilities to run and sustain a safe/organized field engineering role

  • Able to analyze network traffic, determine causes of network slowdowns, identify bottlenecks, detect interdependencies with areas of services (clients, servicers, and applications)

  • Operational understanding of Cisco, ARUBA, Riverbed, and Juniper platforms is a plus

  • Preferred to have IT internetworking (client, network, server, application – OSI Model) knowledge


  • Expert knowledge for networks: WAN, LAN, WLAN and/or Video Conferencing

  • Expert at CCNP Routing & Switching Network – related certifications is a plus

  • 3-5 years’ experience preferred or similar knowledge thru education

  • Juniper, ARUBA, Security and Hybrid WAN expertise is a plus

  • Advanced knowledge using Microsoft Suite & Vizio
